Local hotels and restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City are offering a series of sumptuous feasts and parties for locals and tourists to celebrate the festive season of Christmas and New Year, The Saigon Times Daily reported.

1. Majestic Hotel at 1, Dong Khoi Street, District 1.

A Gala Dinner featuring an Asian and European buffet accompanied with selected music and dance programs will take place at the hotel’s Prima Ballroom – Breeze Sky Bar.

Warm Christmas Night from 7:15 p.m. to 12a.m. is VND1.19 million (US$64.43) per adult and VND595,000 ($32.21) per child .

The New Year’s Eve party will be opened for visitors from 7:15 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at VND1.39 million ($75.26) per adult and VND690,000 ($37.36) per child.

2. Bong Sen Hotel at 117-123 Dong Khoi Street, District 1.

The hotel’s Buffet Ganh Restaurant offers Greeting Season Dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on December 24, 25 and 31 and on January 1.

The feasts include European dishes and games featuring gifts from the Santa Claus and jugglery performances at the price of VND450,000 ++ ($24.36++) per adult and VND225,000++ ($12.18++) per child below five.

The hotel also offers discounts of five percent for groups of six or more and a 10 percent discount for groups of ten visitors and above.

A buffet party called Winter’s Night Party will also be held at another restaurant of the hotel on the seventh floor from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on December 24 and 31.

Tickets to the buffet are offered at $33 per adult and $16.5 per child under five.

From tomorrow until December 31, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., couples, groups of friends and overseas Vietnamese or pedestrians could enjoy a Christmas atmosphere with European specialties at the Green Leaf Café at the price of US$15-17 per guest.

3. Vietnam House Restaurant at 93-95 Dong Khoi Street, District 1.

The restaurant will offer two special menus from December 22 to January 1 to celebrate the upcoming holiday.

They include lobster with tamarind sauce, West Lake grilled chopped shrimp, Sakura hot pot and a free glass of wine or soft drink and are offered at the price of $32 per guest.

4. The Duxton Hotel Saigon at 63 Nguyen Hue Boulevard, District 1.

To mark the festive season, The Grill will offer a buffet dinner on December 24 at the price of $59++ per person with gifts from Santa Claus and a performance of the Duxton Xmas choir.

The buffet dinner on December 31 is $69++ per person, including door gifts and live music entertainment.

The buffet lunch and dinner on December 25 and January 1 is $25++ and US$30++ per person.

Duxton Hotel Saigon also offers Early Bird Discount pre-payment which offers a 20 percent discount before December 20 and a 10 percent discount before noon on December 24 and 31.

5. Sheraton Saigon Hotel at 88 Dong Khoi Street, District 1

The hotel’s Saigon Café will offer a buffet feast including Christmas Turkey carved to order with all the trimmings, maple glazed ham and Christmas pudding from December 23 to 25 and from December 30 to January 1.

On December 24 and 31, the Li Bai Restaurant will offer a sumptuous buffet featuring the flavors of Asia woven together with a selection of Christmas favorites.

6. Caravelle Hotel at 17-19 Lam Son Square, District 1

Carolers from Saigon Children Charity will perform heart-warming seasonal classics from December 20 to 23 at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge.

The hotel is also offering festive afternoon high tea and Christmas goodies on sale at the Lobby Lounge until December 26.

A count-down dance party will also take place at the hotel’s Nineteen Restaurant, Reflections and Saigon Saigon Bar.

7. Que Huong 4 Restaurant at 265 Pham Ngu Lao Street, District 1

BBQ buffets, music and game shows will be hosted from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on December 24 and December 31. Tickets are VND299,000 ($16.19) per adult and VND169,000 ($9.15) per child.

8. De Nhat Hotel at 18 Hoang Viet Street, Tan Binh District

The hotel’s First Grill Restaurant will prepare new menus for Christmas and New Year from December 21 to January 3.

A Christmas tree lighting festival with game shows and music performances will take place on December 23, 24 and 25.

On the first day of the New Year, guests heading to the restaurant from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. can enjoy grilled dishes accompanied with guitar and violin performances.

9. Dong Khanh Hotel at 2 Tran Hung Dao B Street, District 5

A buffet for Christmas will be offered from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on December 24 accompanied with a guitar and violin performance.

Guests to the hotel on the New Year’s Eve can also enjoy a set menu from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets to the feast are VND278,000 ($15) per guest.

10. Bat Dat Hotel at 238 Tran Hung Dao B Street, District 5

A seafood buffet called Peaceful Christmas with a music show will be offered for VND200,000 ($10.83) per adult and VND150,000 ($8.12) per child. Those who buy ten tickets will get one free.

11. Saigon Ship Restaurant at Bach Dang Wharf, District 1

Tourists can celebrate Christmas and New Year under candle light with a program called Seasonal Transition 2009-2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on December 24 and 31 and January 1.

A buffet with music, fire dancing, jugglery and a circus will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are VND400,000 ($21.66) per adult and VND200,000 (10.83) per child.

12. Van Thanh Tourist Area at 48/10 Dien Bien Phu Street, Binh Thanh District

Visitors to the site can enjoy a buffet party with Flamenco performances at the price of VND400,000 (($21.66) per adult and VND250,000 ($13.53) per child.

13. Tan Cang Tourist Area at A 100 Ung Van Khiem Street, Binh Thanh District

Tourists can enjoy grilled hot pot buffet at 5 p.m. every day featuring more than 60 dishes and Flamenco performances. Tickets to the buffets are sold for VND250,000 ($13.53) per adult and VND140,000 ($7.58) per child. Those who buy ten tickets in advance will receive one free ticket.

14. Mövenpick Hotel Saigon at 255 Nguyen Van Troi Street, Phu Nhuan District

The Christmas Eve Dinner at Café Saigon will include photo ops with Santa Claus, toys and balloons for the kids, live dance and choir music, a lucky drawing, and a dinner buffet with celebratory cocktail and free beer and soft drinks.

The New Year’s Eve edition will include live music, shows, lucky draws and a free glass of sparkling wine for the “countdown.”

The hotel also runs special packages for parties of companies to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

15. Windsor Plaza Hotel at 18 An Duong Vuong Street, District 5

The Café Central An Dong will offer entertainment programs with live music and lucky draws on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

The Top of the Town Restaurant on the 25th floor will offer live performances on the Christmas Eve and a countdown to 2010 on the adjoining rooftop terrace on the New Year’s Eve.

16. Legend Hotel Saigon at 2A-4A Ton Duc Thang Street, District 1

At the Lobby on December 22 and 23, the Thang Long School’s Children Choir will perform Christmas Carols.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day parties are available at Kikyo Ballroom, Atrium Café, Yoshino Japanese Restaurant, Legend Lounge, Poolside Bar and Oggi Steak and Bar.

Guests to the venues will be entertained with live music and children will receive gifts from Santa Claus.
